Morelia International Film Festival (FICM): Second tour “Cine para Todxs”

The “Cine Para Todxs” tour of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) continues. Cine Club en Cartelera is the official venue at the Teatro Santa Ana in the city of San Miguel de Allende.

The film “El Placer es Mío” will be screened; it is directed by Elisa Miller, who won the Golden Palm award at the Cannes Festival for her short film “Ver Llover” in 2007. Her cinematographic projects are the short films “Ver Llover” and “Roma” and the film “Go further Alicia.”

What is the movie “El Placer es Mío” about? Director Elisa Miller makes the following comment: “The first idea was to bring a contemporary Adam and Eve and the film ended up being a sad story and at the same time, something that reflects on the state of the soul.” The film addresses the themes of love, sex, and a mixture of violence in the story; the film is rated C. The phrase “happily ever after” will bring with it complications in the relationship of the protagonists and a love triangle with a third character that appears in the story.

The film stars Flor Edwarda Gurrola, Fausto Alzati, and Camila Sodi. The actor and actresses in an interview comment that the film will shake the public.

The film won the 2015 edition of the Morelia International Film Festival and, although it has strong scenes, it managed to obtain financial resources for its premiere and distribution in the interior of the country.

It is always a delight to see stories made by women; little by little, Mexican directors compete in international and national festivals, achieving excellent results. The film industry in Mexico is made up of women and men, who are obtaining excellent results.

“El Placer es Mio” is an unmissable film from the “Cine Para Todxs” tour that includes films and documentaries that were part of some of the editions of the Morelia International Film Festival.
