Local “Design House” Event Replicates Kips Bay Decorator Show House

By Greg Gunter

Just like the eponymous annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House—hosted at premier venues across America—the recent 2022 San Miguel de Allende Design House was also a fundraiser for Casa A.C. that showcased the talents of several interior designers boasting a local presence in San Miguel, as well as in the U.S. Unlike the Kips Bay homes, this Design House is actually being sold!

Design House Founder, designer and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Luxury Collection realtor Kelley West organized the event. The Design House featured custom-designed rooms accredited to specific designers, most notably a dining room fitted by the internationally acclaimed—their Casa del Obispo design work was in Architectural Digest last week—Fisher Weisman Collection, by designers Andrew Fisher and Jeffry Wiseman, shown below.

Other Design House designers included Rachel Horn, Katherine Leutizinger, Karina Tabarez, Nicole Norris, and Miralda Sojo-Cordá. And the grand foyer was designed by event organizer West, who found staging the home to be a key component to helping market it.

“I’m so proud of my team,” designer and realtor West said of the designers who participated. “The event was oversold and was a huge success, raising sorely-needed funds for Casa’s reproductive care and childhood services.” She also noted the eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom home—showcasing the region’s indigenous Spanish Colonial architecture so popular with American expats—is on the market for US$1.75 million.
