New Dogs at the S.P.A.

By Megan Gabel

At the beginning of August, the S.P.A. brought in six dogs from Canine Control, the city’s kill shelter. We’re so happy we could save them. They are now ready for adoption.

We have named them Grace, Sierra, Champ, Lizzy, Ruby, and Sammy. Grace and Sierra are medium-sized dogs. Champ and Lizzy are small/medium-sized dogs. Ruby and Sammy are youngsters – small dogs, but still growing. Lizzy has already been adopted!

Each has a different personality, but what they have in common is how sweet they are and how much they would love to be in a home. Grace (2-1/2 years old) is a very gentle dog who likes to give and receive attention. She gravitates to being by your side. She walks easily on a leash, loping along the street, seemingly not bothered by anything. Sierra (1 year old) is a beautiful dog with an animated personality. She is very eager to go for a walk and does very well on a leash. She loves getting attention and is very friendly to people and other dogs.

Champ (3 years old) is an alert, happy, energetic terrier mix. He is friendly with people and other dogs, loves to go for a walk, and likes to play. Ruby (8 months old) is an angel! She is an adorable, calm, gentle little girl who really loves to cuddle. She’ll stay nestled in your arms without squirming for quite a while. Sammy (7 months old) is a cute little guy, full of spunk and energy. He is eager to go for a walk and enjoys playing and getting attention.

If you are looking to add to your family, please come to the S.P.A. and meet these dogs and others as well as our cats. When you adopt one of our shelter residents, you are not only giving that animal a chance at a new life, but you are making space at the S.P.A. so that we can save other cats and dogs.

Our adoption hours are Monday-Saturday, 11am-2pm, Los Pinos 7, 415 1526124 (masks required). Our available dogs are here: https://www.spasanmiguel.org/adopt-me-dogs/ Our available cats are here:  https://www.spasanmiguel.org/adopt-me-cats/  Our adoption fee is 600 pesos. For dogs, it includes sterilization, all current vaccinations, deworming, and the leptospirosis booster. For cats, the fee includes sterilization, all current vaccinations, deworming, and the feline leukemia vaccine and booster.
