La Cieneguita Bridge Inauguration

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, inaugurated the La Cieneguita Vehicular Bridge that will provide better connectivity and mobility to the residents of San Miguel de Allende. This bridge was built by the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility (SICOM), as part of the State Government’s actions to promote the development and economic reactivation of Guanajuato. More than 82.4 million pesos were invested in the bridge, which will benefit more than 72,400 inhabitants of San Miguel Allende and the region. Estimates indicate that the roadway will have a daily traffic volume of more than 2,500 vehicles. 

López Obrador celebrates four years in office

Close to 1.2 million people participated in the march called by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to celebrate the fourth anniversary of his administration, according to the capital’s authorities. From early in the morning, thousands of citizens, as well as several governors and other officials, including Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, gathered around the Angel of Independence, where the march left for the Zócalo. The Federal Executive advanced, together with the head of the government of the CDMX, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, at a slow pace due to the difficulty of walking in front of the large concentration of people or attendees, some of whom sought to approach him to take a photo, to see him, or simply to hand him a document.

FAI celebrates 30 years with the inauguration of its new facilities

The members of the Fundación para el Apoyo Infantil (FAI) were very happy to celebrate their 30th anniversary with the inauguration of the Ecological Community Center. State and municipal authorities were present, generating commitments and alliances to continue FAI’s community work of making children’s rights a reality in a dignified space of coexistence, respect, and equality. Finally, after several years of searching, the dream came to fruition, and the children were able to take ownership of the place, which favors learning through methodologies and promoting children’s rights.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day was first celebrated on December 1, 1988. Since then, the virus has killed more than 25 million people worldwide, making it one of the most destructive epidemics in history. It was the first day dedicated to health worldwide. The reason for choosing that specific date was for reasons of media impact as the first day of the month of December. On this day, people perform many acts of awareness, taking to the streets wearing a red ribbon and mobilizing to raise funds for research and to give their support and solidarity to people with AIDS.

«Experiences in Guanajuato are on Another Level.»

The campaign invites tourists and visitors to live experiences of «another level» in Guanajuato in the aspects of romance, MICE, nature, enology, distilled liquors, wellness, culture, gastronomy, and sports. The Ministry of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato presented the campaign «Experiences in Guanajuato are on Another Level,» which promotes eleven events based on the nine segments of the state’s tourism strategy, during the holiday season. Different cities, such as Mexico City, Jalisco, Queretaro, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosi, and Michoacan, received this tourism offer. 

Dwight Blake returns to San Miguel

Dwight Blake, an international artist, pianist, and singer, born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, gained a devoted following in Puerto Vallarta a few years ago. Reviews on social networks confirm that «Dwight Blake’s fun and energetic performances are always a hit,» wrote the Vallarta Daily News. «The audience can’t help but get up and dance.» He returns to San Miguel for the night only, on Friday, December 2, at 7pm. He will be performing a show titled «Dwight Blake: Feeling Good,» at the San Miguel Playhouse for the first time in more than three and a half years.
