Happiness is a state of mind.

Daily well-being habits can create a positive mood, so maintaining good habits is very important for me. Given the nature of my professions—weddings, interiors, and landscape design—and also how my mind is wired, I think a lot! So to me, mental, physical, and spiritual health self-care are primordial.

Not every day can be a perfect day, but I do what I can to incorporate the following habits into my day to keep a balanced state of body, spirit, and mind:

  1. Rest well. I only get five hours of sleep, but I rest deeply after writing the following day’s tasks before going to bed. I disconnect phone devices, play binaural beats sound therapy for deep sleeping, use aromatherapy, energy clearing stones, and crystals … you name it. If I don’t rest well, I’m not at my best the next day.
  2. I find my center early in the morning. I do breath meditation, pray, and read, then start my work day with a cold shower all year around.
  3. I like to walk to places whenever possible. I think and create better things when I walk. I actually walk a lot, and I love it!
  4. I recharge with nature. Since I work with plants and flowers, love plants, design gardens etc…i rejoice when i do that kind of stuff, otherwise i love trail biking, visit botanical gardens, strolls, visiting parks, and finding inspiration in nature all around wherever i go. You can always spot me at nurseries, plant festivals or picking up branches off the floor at parks.
  5. If I like my outfit, it just makes my day a lot better. Dressing up is fun, I’m spontaneous, I dress for the occasion…it’s a mood booster for me.
  6. I LOVE to ride horses…it is a freeing and powerful sensation that gives me thrills and adrenaline, perfect mood booster any chance i have. Alternatively, when I’m not on a horse, I love to ride trail bikes or motorcycles.
  7. I eat well, I love healthy eating, it gives me more energy and a better mood. But I can eat a cow when I crave it, don’t be fooled…i love to eat or try almost anything but in moderation-  my ideal week is raw vegan, then weekends anything goes. I keep my alcohol intake very low, I value mental clarity and good moods very much.

All that and a busy and creative schedule just makes for a perfect day for me, i am very blessed with amazing projects and wonderful clients that allow me to enjoy my vocations… and also to me work is part of my mental health practice. When I’m creating, I am happier.

Yes, you can say I’m always busy busy!
