Artisanal sorbet or nieve de garrafa as many know it, is made by hand, beating a metal mold that contains a mixture of ingredients that will be the ice cream inside another wooden vessel containing ice and salt. In San Miguel we have a delicious variety, with flavors as creative as they are unusual, with names that promise an experience for the senses. The classic flavors such as lemon, vanilla, strawberry, and coconut are a guarantee, but for the more daring there are flavors such as mojito, gansito, angel kiss, ferrero rocher, piñon, pistachio, and many others.

The artisanal ice cream maker Santa Ana, located on the corner of Calle Insurgentes and Relox, has been offering sorbet and ice cream on the same corner for more than 80 years. The founder was Octavio Godínez and his family continues to serve ice cream. Their specialty is a “Life in San Miguel” sorbet, a mixture of regional fruits with a touch of red wine.

Nieves Los Rosales is located on the corner of Calle Insurgentes and Calle Hidalgo and has been preparing ice cream for more than 12 years. The best-selling flavors are mantecado (a mixture of nuts and eggnog), red fruits, and garambullo.

Nieves de la Plazuela de San Felipe on Calle Insurgentes have been offering delicious ice cream for 25 years. It is a family business and is always well attended. They offer more than 50 flavors, including angel kiss ice cream and lemon, which are the best sellers.

Nieves las Monjas is located on the corner of Hernandez Macías, just in front of the Templo de las Monjas. They have been there for 45 years, the best-selling ice creams are marzipan, lemon, and garambullo flavors.
